Chilly Run

It was one of those morning when it took all you had to get out of bed and run in 42 degree weather.  It was chilly but only because the few days before had been in the 80's so I havent had to adjust.  Good thing my running buddy is as hard headed as I am.  We got out there and did a short 4 miler.  Then treated ourselves to some Harvest Spice coffee.....good morning!!

Saucony Rep

We had a surprise at our normal 6@6 run today.  The Saucony Rep was there for us to try shoes and jackets.  These are the goodies we all got to leave with!!  SCORE!!!

I ran my usual Thursday run with my girls, 5 miles @ 6am!  It's not even June yet and at 6am it was 74 degrees with 82% humidity!!  It was a little HOT!

Drivers really do need to look both ways when they are pulling out of a street.   We had a close call today on my run with Anna & Regina.  It was a nice 7 mile run up until the end when someone decides to pull out in front of us.

I rode my road bike for the 1st time  this year yesterday.  I still can't believe it myself!!  I have been mountain biking but not road biking.  My sit is a little sore.  You would think biking is biking but its not. haha  Guess I have to get use to my aero bar position again. haha

My weekend!!

I did the Fiesta 10k run with Anna.  She had not done this race before so it was very exciting!!  I didn't get to stay for the festivities because I had to go to work for a few hours.  As if running 6 miles in the heat wasn't enough I went mountain biking after work.

Sunday was more of a relaxing day....church in the morning and a nice boat ride to Hotdog Island.

Rest Day!

It's always a struggle to rest on a SDO (scheduled day off) when I want to get out and run!!  I hope the people around me make it through the day. haha

My plan is to "rest" this morning and relax out on the boat for the rest of the day...wish me luck!!

Thursday Run

My usual Thursday morning run had a little surprise when I got to Running Wild.  There was a Mizuno rep there so we could demo shoes!  The shoes were noticeably lighter than my shoes.  I also got a free pair of socks and a water bottle for running a few miles in their shoes. 

Can't beat that!  Life is good!

5@6 Run

    I ran another 5 mile run @ 6am with one of my "bestest" running buddy Anna Miller.  Every time we run I think about that fact that she may be moving away and this could be one of our last weekly runs together!  So needless to say I enjoy every minute of our run!!

Pacer

I just gave up every Saturday from the end of July until November 11th.  I am going to be a pacer for Running Wilds Pensacola Marathon training group.  I'm very excited to help out and work with people doing their 1st marathon or people wanting to hit their goal time!

Morning Run!

I did a 5 mile fun run with 3 of my Phat Girlz!  Great day watching the sun come up over the bay...very nice!

I started my journey in September 2004.  I joined a gym to lose some weight but didnt really know how things worked so I got on the treadmill and decided I would run as long as I could.  I ended up running 1.4 miles.  I was amazed and right then decided I would train for a 5k which I ran in November.  After that a 15k in March and then started marathon training in October 2005.  It was a snowball effect that hasnt slowed down.   I ran my 1st marathon in February 2006 and now have a total of 15 marathons, 1 was an ultra marathon.   In between all that I have a few triathlons mixed in there too.
 
I love running & biking trails!  It makes me feel like I'm a kid again!

I live in a great running/workout community so it makes working out very easy because there is always someone that will be glad to join you.

I never really thought of myself as a runner and always wondered why my experiences would help someone else....I know now I am a runner and I really enjoy helping other people find out that they are too!
